Lingerie guide for your boudoir session
Best things to wear
Let’s face it even the women we see as “perfect” have areas they are sensitive or insecure about. This page is dedicated to help you select lingerie for particular area’s that you’re sensitive or insecure about. Using this guide to purchase your lingerie to help you enhance or diminish certain areas will not only make you feel more confident for your photo shoot but your final imagery will turn out better as well.
Tummy & Torso
The most common area that women are insecure or sensitive about is the tummy and torso. Great news if you are one of the majority, there are TONS of sexy options to help you with this area! If you are worried about this area I recommend looking for the following styles of lingerie;
Corsets: will hide all of your sensitive areas while accentuating your feminine form.
Under Bust Corsets: Same as a corset but sexier, this will draw attention to your chest while contouring your torso. Perfect for women who are worried about the torso and tummy area but love their chests.
Babydoll: This is basically a clown mini dress that will draw attention to your chest and provide support.
Teddy: Will show off your chest and help with shaping your overall form and give your tummy cover. These are sometimes called “body suits”.
Chemise: These will define your body shape while helping to cover torso imperfections.
High Waist Panties: These are my go to hide the “mommy pouch” as I call it and still show plenty of skin below the bra. Often times hiding stretch marks.
Sweater: Were them with your favorite panties.... HOT!
T-Shirt: Don’t overlook that shirt with wide or low cut necks, these when wore without a bra will attract attention to your chest with alluring poses.
Tank-Tops: also like t-shirts if low cut in the arms they are a great way to show side boob and downplay the torso.
Rompers: just make sure they open wide with a back zipper. these are great for the beginning of the shoot as you work your way out of your clothing.
Sport Coat: These are commonly purchased with a nice women’s suit. They will conceal the tummy while revealing the chest.
Lace Gown: To be considered by all women! Tight and stretchy is the key to accentuate your form. Does great to hide skin imperfections.
Chest
The second most common area women are insecure and sensitive about. Lack of size, lack of perkiness, whatever it may be....
For women with smaller chests please know with good posing and lighting techniques you will look much bigger than you see in your day to day life. The following will give you the illusion of more volume;
Sweaters: Turtle necks and high cut sweaters will always have a conservative sexy feel.
Scarves: These can be used to draw attention away from areas you’re sensitive about and towards other areas of your body that you love!
Push Up Bra: Who doesn’t love them? Do not get a tight fitting bra make sure it has lift up and in.
Chemise: conservative top slips. Aggressive lighting will maximize the shadows of your breast and accentuating your other curves like hips.
Bralette: The wider the torso strap the better
Pro Tip: Push up adhesive brad are a great way to build more cleavage under your favorite chamise, corset, slip or scarf!
For moderate or large breasted women who are worried about perkiness, the following are perfect for those not worried about size but rather perkiness;
Teddy: They have built in bras for support, coverage for your torso and tummy and even clip into your stockings if you need leg coverage too.
Balcony Bra: These have almost a “shelf” that hugs your torso under your breast to provide lift without smooshing. Pair them with matching panties or high waisted for added covering your tummy too.
Corset: These will give you the best cleavage.
Chemise: These are form fitting and will enhance your shape and support your chest all while acting as a body shaper for the rest of your torso.
Babydoll: Buy those that have a built in bra. Most have sheer material for your tummy which will also help hide scars and stretch marks.
Night Gown: These are pretty much the same as a babydoll but often times are less sheer and offer more of a vintage look.
PRO TIP: Get designs with more bra like qualities built into them.
Upper Arms
Not mentioned as the much as the areas above but I do hear about them as being a problem area for some women.
Robes: anything long sleeve is worth every penny. These provide tons of posing opportunities as well.
Button Up Shirt: Yours or His will do. But yours will be more form fitting. Anything long sleeve and open front.
PRO TIP: When searching for these search “long sleeve + “any lingerie mentioned here” to easily find whatever you have in mind.
Thighs & Legs
Another area that is commonly referred to as troublesome that could be sensitive or insecure about. Stocking.... Socks.... Jeans.... yep it’s that simple.
Lace stockings: These will provide a heavy coverage while still being sensual.
Fishnet stockings: Light coverage of your legs but great when paired with matching top and/or bottom.
Thigh High Socks: Great for everyone and adds extra poses to your session.
Jeans: Choose a pair that make your butt look good! Just think of all the sexy ways you can work out of them!
